Hey, I’m Joanne.
I am a Malaysia-born explorer, advocate for simple living, and blogger who’s still figuring it all out. My heart finds joy in life’s small wonders: walking along a quiet beach, stumbling upon hidden trails, or simply soaking in the beauty of green spaces. I’m also an Excel geek, a seafarer, and a city daughter.
In 2016, I traded the predictable for the unpredictable, leaving behind the safety of a corporate desk for the wild adventure of life on cruise ships. Every day brought different horizons, and somewhere between the chaos of sea life and the serenity of sunsets over endless waves, I realised I wanted more than just stories to tell – I wanted freedom, connection, and a life built on my own terms.
Fast forward to now: I’m trying to carve out my own roadmap, one step at a time, and I’d love to encourage you to find yours, too.
Of course, not everything about me is graceful or adventurous. I’ve spent almost a decade in corporate life mastering the art of report writing (read: surviving endless deadlines). Now, I’m on a whimsical journey of self-discovery through writing – a task made even funnier because I subscribe to what feels like a lifetime of writer’s block. So, let’s just stick with “blogger” for now.
This space is where I share my reflections, comical missteps, and questionable wisdom, all while trying to live a simpler, more intentional life. If you’ve ever felt stuck, uncertain, or like the map you were handed doesn’t quite work for you, know you’re not alone.
